What are email alerts?
Email alerts are messages that you can receive free of charge each time a new issue of an online Cell Press journal is published. This is discussed further in Receiving email alerts.
How do I unsubscribe from email alerts or change my email alert options?
  1. Sign in to Cell Metabolism Online.
  2. Click the black Email Alerts button in the navigation bar at the top of all pages.
  3. Amend your email alert options, as required. To unsubscribe completely from email alerts, uncheck all checkboxes. This is discussed further in Receiving email alerts.

What is supplemental data?

Supplemental data is web-based material not available in the printed version of Cell Metabolism. This might include animations, sounds, or mpeg video sequences.

You do not need to be a Subscriber or Registered User to access supplemental data.

This is discussed further in Accessing supplemental data.

Can I contact the author of an article?

You can email an author if a link to the author’s email address is available at the top of the article.
Why do the figures in some articles appear in the wrong order?

For the reader’s convenience, figures are included after the paragraph where they are first mentioned in the text. An author may need to refer to a figure (for example Figure 4) before the previous figure (Figure 3) has been mentioned in the text. In such an example Figure 4 will appear before Figure 3 in the online version.
Why can’t I find the article I want when I perform a search?

It may be that there is no article at Cell Metabolism Online that fits your search criteria, or you may not be using the Search dialog effectively. Use of the Search dialog is discussed in detail in Finding information.

Downloading and printing

Is there any reason why I should download or print the PDF version of an article rather than the version I see in my browser window?

The PDF version of the article will look like the article in the printed version of Cell Metabolism. However, PDF files take longer to download than HTML pages. This is discussed in Downloading and printing information.
How can I solve a problem with downloading or printing PDF files?

These topics are discussed in Downloading and printing information.
